In this surrealist short film, the viewer finds himself in an oppressive situation of disorientation, unease and foreboding. He is left in the dark about the protagonist, his motivation for his actions and his relation to space. At the same time, he is given an uncomfortable proximity to the events that he cannot escape. Children’s hands, bread crumbs, fire and dead insects refer to Grimm’s fairy tale “Hansel and Gretel”.
This work references David Fincher’s film “Se7en” and “Streets of Crocodiles” by the Quay brothers.
